Hi everyone! Welcome one more day to the Blog of MusicBayside Oboe!
My name is Nuria Cabezas and today I have prepared a post to learn Face and Tongue Stretches for Musicians.
This post is part of a series that will include how to warm up our body, hands, fingers, face and breathing. Find the other videos of the series at the end of the post!
How to warm up our face muscles and tongue to play the Oboe?
We are going to learn 5 exercises in order to prepare the muscles of our face and tongue to play.
Exercise 1
Get a loose jaw and relax your jaw saying a very large A.
Exercise 2
Now we do the opposite exercise. We contract the musculature of our face. Imagine that you are kissing someone.
Exercise 3
Relax the area by vibrating the lips without tension in your face.
Exercise 4
Do a facial massage with the help of our hands.
Exercise 5
Exercise for the tongue and air, vibrating the sound up and down.
